My Air Fryer is up there on my favorite item in my kitchen. At least top 5. I’m not sure we’ve made anything that didn’t turn out great. Well, except for the Bloomin Onion. That was a fail. Some things are just meant to be deep fried.

In honor of Super Bowl Sunday, I had to share my Air Fryer Chicken Wing recipe!

I’ve made wings before in the oven and they turned out pretty good but were lacking that crispy fried taste that I was craving. Enter the Air Fryer. They were crispy!! I was so excited. So I learned two tricks that I think really helped to make them crispy. Baking Powder and turning them halfway through. Very simple but made a huge difference.

Also, a very helpful tip is use the air fryer with these wings in the garage or outside. Weird, yes, but better than having your house turn into a smoky, stinky pit.

As far as sauces, I cooked the wings then coated them with the sauce. I used a premade Buffalo sauce and barbecue sauce. I’m all for making my own sauces but after cooking all the wings, i wanted simple. I’m not a spicy fan, so I made a few with barbecue sauce for me as well. After the sauce you can always throw them under the broiler to get them charbuffed (that’s the word, right?). I LOVE them that way.

Ingredients

23 pounds chicken wings

2 Tablespoons Canola Oil

Salt and pepper

2 Tablespoons baking powder

Sauce of your choosing

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl or large baking sheet, place wings and add the oil. Mix wings around to cover them in the oil, Add a large pinch of salt and pepper and mix again until all coated. Sprinkle baking powder over chicken wings and mix again. Set aside.
  2. Use the fryer basket in the air fryer and line the chicken wings in a single layer. Set temperature to 375 degrees and cook for 25 minutes. Halfway through, turn each wing over.
  3. After the 25 minutes, turn temperature up to 400 degrees and heat for 10 minutes.
  4. Remove from air fryer and set aside. In a large bowl, add the sauce of your choice. Then put the cooked chicken wings in the bowl and toss until all are coated.
  5. If you want to charbuff them, then put the wings onto a baking sheet and put in the oven under broil for about 5 minutes, watch carefully.
  6. Serve immediately with ranch, blue cheese, veggies and more ranch. Enjoy!
