WHAT’S FOR A SWEET TREAT?

Peach Sherbet

Array/5
COOK TIME

First thing is first, does everyone have to take an extra moment to make sure they are saying or spelling “sherbet” right? Because I spent most of my younger years say “sherbert.” Please tell me I’m not alone. Sherbet. Like sorbet but sherbet. But not pronounced the same. I give up.

Now onto the real matter at hand…this peach sherbet is life changing. That may seem ridiculous, but it’s that good. My mom tore this recipe out of Magnolia magazine for me to try. Holy moly. Obviously Joanna Gaines is Joanna Gaines for a reason, the woman knows how to sell out Target AND how to make an incredible Peach Sherbet.

I used fresh peaches for this one and left some of the skin on some of the slices before I froze them. I think you could use frozen peaches from the grocery store, but if I’m honest, I think the fresh peaches are really where this one shines. The flavor is amazing!

If you are a peach fan, then you need to try this one this summer. No ice cream maker needed. Just a blender and four ingredients. Easy and delicious.

Ingredients

5 cups of fresh peaches (56 peaches), peeled and cubed then frozen

1 can (14 ounce) sweetened condensed milk

1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

1/8 teaspoon almond extract

small pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Peel, slice and chop peaches. I did leave some of the skin on a few slices and feel it adds a bit of rustic texture. Place peaches in an airtight container and into the freezer.
  2. Once frozen, put the peaches, sweetened condensed milk, almond extract, nutmeg and a small pinch of salt all into a high powdered blender.
  3. Blend until smooth. You can enjoy right away or put into an airtight container and freeze until ready to eat. Enjoy!
