Okay, I know what you are thinking. A leftover Thanksgiving pizza recipe? Weird. But hear me out. I had this pizza in a bar a couple of years ago and my first thoughts were also, “weird.” I just had to try it though.

I love weird and different foods and usually, it ends up being something I absolutely love. This time turned out to be the same.

Thanksgiving pizza is exactly what it sounds like: pizza crust, layered with all the best Thanksgiving foods. Gravy, mashed potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce, turkey and then topped with mozzarella cheese. Baked in the oven and pure comfort food.

I love this because it’s super easy, delicious, but best of all it’s a really unique way of using Thanksgiving leftovers. I love a good turkey sandwich too, but this is too good to pass up.

Leftover Thanksgiving Pizza Ingredients

One of the best things about this Thanksgiving pizza recipe is just how easy it is to make. You only need a few simple ingredients to make this epic post-holiday dinner.

  • Premade pizza dough: Simply choose your favorite dough. Homemade dough works great if you have a recipe you love, but I love using pre-made because I’m usually a little burnt out on cooking the day after Thanksgiving.
  • Shredded mozzarella cheese: Grab a bag of your go-to shredded mozzarella for the easiest pizza topping ever. Fresh mozzarella would also be delicious.
  • Thanksgiving leftovers: You can make this pizza your own depending on what kind of leftovers you have in your fridge.

What kind of crust should I use?

You can really use whatever kind of pizza dough you want with this recipe. A classic pizza dough recipe works great for this dish, but you can also use store bought dough or pizza rounds. I’ve even seen people make Thanksgiving pizza recipes with puffed pastry dough, which would also be delicious.

What turkey pizza toppings should I try?

The Thanksgiving leftover pizza you create will depend on the leftovers you have in your fridge. The sky is truly the limit! Here is what I like to use for my Thanksgiving pizza recipe:

  • Gravy
  • Turkey
  • Mashed Potatoes
  • Stuffing
  • Cranberry sauce

How to Make Leftover Thanksgiving Pizza

Using Thanksgiving leftovers to make pizza is one of the easiest (and most delicious) ways to get all that food out of your fridge. Follow these steps for a quick post-holiday meal.

Step One: Simply preheat your oven to 350 degrees and place your pizza dough on a pizza stone or baking sheet.

Step Two: We’re going to use leftover gray as pizza sauce. Spoon out and spread a layer of gravy onto your dough. Top that with mashed potatoes and spread it out evenly over the pizza.

Step Three: Sprinkle leftover stuffing on top of the gravy and mashed potatoes. Dollop cranberry sauce all over the layer of stuffing.

Step Four: Sprinkle the whole pizza with shredded mozzarella and make for about 15 minutes until the cheese is melty.

Other Thanksgiving Pizza Ideas

There are so many different ways to make this leftover Thanksgiving pizza recipe. No matter what your traditional Thanksgiving foods are, you can turn your leftovers into this crave-worthy dish.

Here are some other ideas for leftover Thanksgiving pizza:

  • Mashed Sweet Potato Base: I love the idea of using a mashed sweet potato base instead of traditional mashed potatoes. Using sweet potato would give the pizza a slight sweetness that would pair really well with the cheese and savory flavors.
  • Cranberry Sauce Base: Don’t have leftover gravy? You could use Cranberry sauce as the base for this pizza. The cranberry sauce would add a delicious sweetness that would taste so good with the turkey, stuffing and cheese.
  • Roasted Veggie Topping: I love making roasted Brussels sprouts and roasted squash for Thanksgiving Day. Use up any leftover roasted veggies you have in your house by adding them to your Thanksgiving pizza.
  • French Fried Onion Topping: If your family makes green bean casserole, then you’ll probably have some leftover French fried onions after Thanksgiving. I love the idea of sprinkling some of those on top of the cheese for a bit of crunch.
  • Use a Different Cheese: I love a good cheese board appetizer for Thanksgiving get-togethers. You could easily use any leftovers (if you have any!) in place of the mozzarella on this pizza. I love the idea of using Gruyere, aged cheddar or gouda on this pizza.
