I absolutely love that perfect bite with a mix of tortilla, seasoned steak, cilantro lime rice, tomatoes, black beans, avocado and sour cream. Oh man, so good. Now, we can make it at home all on our own.

Those are my perfect toppings but you can make it exactly what you want. But I will strongly encourage you to cook it all up in a skillet to get that nice brown/crispy texture on the outside. So good!

Here’s another tip- buy the prepackaged, heat it up cilantro lime rice to have on hand. Comes in handy so many times for Mexican recipes, especially this one.

Ingredients

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1/2 teaspoon cumin powder

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

1/4 teaspoon onion powder

1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

pinch salt and pepper

2 teaspoons vegetable oil

1 pound skirt steak (we use D and D Beef)

1 package premade Cilantro Lime Rice

1 can (15 oz) black beans

Burrito Size flour tortillas

Pico de Gallo, Sour Cream, Guacamole

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine the oregano, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, red pepper flakes and a pinch of salt and pepper. Rub the mixture all over all sides of the steak and set aside.
  2. Heat rice as directed on package. Drain black beans from can and rinse. Place in a small saucepan and heat on low to medium heat. Stir occasionally.
  3. Heat a pan on medium-high heat and drizzle the vegetable oil into the pan. Add steak and cook for about 3 minutes per side or until desired doneness. Transfer steak to a cutting board and let rest for about 5 monutes. Then slice against the grain for desired thickness of slices.
  4. Time to build your burrito. Place your tortilla out on a flat surface and start with a even layer of the rice. Top with steak pieces, then a layer of black beans, pico de gallo, and sour cream. (or whatever toppings you would like)
  5. Fold the flap nearest you over to the middle of the toppings. Then continue until all sides are folded in. In the same pan, spray with nonstick spray and heat on medium-high heat. Place the burrito seam side down and heat for 2-3 minutes, flip and brown the other side for a couple minutes or until golden brown.
  6. Serve while warm and top with your favorite stuff!
