The ultimate example of “this may not look great but it’s freaking delicious.” Not a looker, but Beef Stroganoff is the ultimate old school comfort food. Creamy, rich, tons of flavor all poured over some buttery noodles. I feel cozy just thinking about it. 

Get your cozy on and make this on a Sunday night for family dinner. Not hard to make and so good.

Beef Stroganoff

Classic comfort food in an easy to make recipe. Creamy beef and mushrooms over buttery noodles. Perfect cozy meal.

Ingredients

1.5 pounds round steak, cut into thin strips
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Flour
2 Tablespoons olive oil
2 Tablespoons butter

1 medium onion, sliced
1 package fresh mushrooms, sliced
1 can (1.75 ounce) beef broth
1 can (10.75 ounce) cream of mushroom soup
1/2 cup sour cream
1 package egg noodles, cooked

Instructions

  1. Season the steak strips with the salt, pepper and garlic powder then sprinkle with a light dusting of flour.
  2. In a large skillet, melt the butter together with olive oil. Brown the steal strips and brown on both sides. Remove the steak form the pan and set aside.
  3. Add the onion slices and mushrooms to the pan, saute for a few minutes until soft. Sprinkle with 1 teaspoon of flour over the top.
  4. Put the steak back in the pan with the onion and mushrooms. Add the mushroom soup and beef broth and mix all together.
  5. Cover and cook over low heat for about 30 minutes. Add salt and pepper as needed.
  6. Stir in the sour cream at the end. Serve over the cooked egg noodles.
