Butter Parmesan Noodles are so simple, I wasn’t even sure I wanted to add it as a recipe on the site. However, I know how hard it is to think of dinner ideas your kids will eat. So I needed to put this one on the site and in the meal plan to remind you to make a super easy dinner that is delicious every now and then.

Leah loves this one (and any type of meal involving noodles, really) and asks for it regularly. Buttered Parmesan Noodles are just Elbow noodles, butter, parmesan, and some frozen veggies. Easy and yummy,

Why I Love Butter Parmesan Noodles?

I love Butter Parmesan Noodles because it’s such an easy recipe. Only a few ingredients that I usually have in my kitchen all the time. Plus it’s a delicious meal. Nothing fancy, but butter, noodles, and cheese is a comforting meal and I love it. I like to throw in any frozen veggies I have on hand to add some healthy stuff in there. Leah is a big fan and so am I and I call that a major dinner win.

What Ingredients Will I Need?

The ingredients for these Butter Parmesan Noodles are so simple. I mean really simple. Here’s all you need:

  • Elbow Noodles
  • Butter
  • Parmesan Cheese
  • Frozen Veggies

How to Make Butter Parmesan Noodles?

My favorite part of making Butter Parmesan Noodles is that everything can be done in one pan. My kinda busy weeknight meal.

Start by boiling the Elbow Noodles and then draining. Place the noodles back in the same pot over low heat and add the butter and frozen veggies. After the butter is melted and the veggies are heated through, top everything with the parmesan cheese and stir. Leah loves the grated parmesan cheese but I love the shredded kind. Done.

Can You Use Other Types of Noodles?

Absolutely you can use other types of noodles. You can use any pasta you like or have on hand. I’ve used spaghetti, rotini, linguini, egg noodles, etc. Anything you have around will work wonderfully and taste delicious.

What Else Can I Add Into these Butter Parm Noodles?

I usually add frozen veggies to these and throw some chicken nuggets on the side for a little protein. Chicken nuggets count, right? I’ve also cut up chicken nuggets up and added them right into the butter parmesan noodles.

Other add ins we love:

  • chicken
  • shrimp
  • herbs
  • mozzarella cheese
  • pesto
  • tomato sauce

Tips to Make the Best Butter Parmesan Noodles

This is such an easy recipe, here are some tips to make it perfect!

  • Don’t cook the noodles past al dente, the pasta will become mushy
  • Save a little pasta water to add into the pasta at the end to make it creamier
  • To reheat- add a couple Tablespoons of water and a Tablespoon of butter and reheat in the microwave for 30 seconds at a time until heated through.

Ingredients

Elbow Noodles (16 oz package)

1/2 cup Butter (1 stick)

Frozen Mixed Veggies (12 oz bag)

1 cup Shredded or Grated Parmesan Cheese

Instructions

1. Bring a large pot of water to a boil, be sure to salt water. Once boiling, add the package of noodles. Cook until just before al dente. Be careful not to overcook.

2. Once pasta is cooked, reserve about 1/2 cup of pasta water. Drain and then place cooked noodles back into the same pot. Place pot back on the stove on low heat.

3. Add the butter and frozen veggies to the noodles and mix together. Heat until butter is melted and veggies are warmed through. You can add more butter if needed or a little pasta water at a time if you want the mixture to be more creamy.

4. Sprinkle the parmesan cheese over the past and mix everything together until cheese is melted. Serve right away and add more parmesan to the top to serve if desired.
