I have a confession. The first time I tried Nutella was last year.

And now I am furious with myself that I never tried the greatness that is Nutella before then and also furious with myself because I will randomly take a spoonful of Nutella and eat it by myself. I won’t share and it’s not a good look.

I’m on a mission to bake with Nutella more now because I feel like I need to make up for lost time. Why did no one tell me how amazing this stuff is!?!? So first up on the Nutella baking journey is a classic treat…but with Nutella. Nutella Rice Krispie Treats. Boom.  (if you want my absolute favorite rice krispie treat recipe which has a secret ingredient to make them amazing- you can find it here.)

But if you want the ridiculousness of Nutella Rice Krispie Treats, then keep on reading. These were literally gone within 12 hours. I’m pretty sure I ate 87% of the pan too. I couldn’t stop. Little bit here, little bit there…oops, I ate it all.

Ingredients

6 Tablespoons Salted Butter
10 ounces large marshmallows
1/8 teaspoon kosher salt
1/3 cup Nutella
6 cups Rice Krispies
1-1/2 cup miniature marshmallows
1 cup Pecans, Finely Chopped
5 ounces Semi Sweet Chocolate, melted for drizzling over the top

Instructions

1. Melt 4 tablespoons of the butter in a large saucepan over medium-low heat. Add marshmallows and salt and stir until melted. Once melted, add Nutella. When Nutella and marshmallows are melted together, add additional two tablespoons of butter and stir until smooth. Set aside.
2. Melt the semisweet chocolate in the microwave for 1 minute, stir. Then microwave 30 seconds at a time, stirring in between until smooth. Set aside and let cool a bit.
3. Add Rice Krispies to a large bowl and fold in the Nutella mixture. When it’s almost all combined, add mini-marshmallows then continue folding until everything’s combined.
4. Pour and press the mixture into a greased 9 x 13-inch pan. Sprinkle with half the pecans. Drizzle the melted chocolate over the top of the treats. Sprinkle the rest of the pecans on top. Once cool, cut into squares and try not to eat the entire pan in one night.
