Here is the truth on these Carmelitas: these are one of my favorite bar recipes ever. There is something about these flavors that just make me so happy. SO happy! It’s melted goodness over a sweet brown sugary buttery oat crust and I basically want to eat them everyday. And pretty much have for the last week. #noshame

Bonus- super easy. You can make the crust by hand without a mixer. Use pre made little caramels to melt and then chocolate chips. EASY! These will go fast so set some aside for yourself before everyone gets a taste at how good these are.

1/2 cup heavy whipping cream

3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) butter, melted

1 cup brown sugar

1 cup oats

1 cup flour

1 package (12 ounces) milk chocolate chips

  3. In a medium size bowl, combine the melted butter, brown sugar, flour and oats. Stir until combined.
  4. Take half the mixture and press into the bottom of the baking dish. Bake for 10 minutes. Remove from oven then sprinkle the chocolate chips over the crust. Then pour the melted caramel over the chocolate chips.
  5. Take the remaining half of the crust mixture and sprinkle over top the caramel. Bake again for 15 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool completely before cutting. Enjoy the gooeyness!
