These Oreo Cookie Popsicles are creamy, crunchy, and ridiculously easy to make right in the original cookie wrapper. With just a few simple ingredients and no fancy tools, you’ve got a fun, freezer-ready dessert thats ready any time of the year!

Leave it to Tiktok to show me yet another recipe that I MUST try. The second I saw these homemade Oreo popsicles, I knew they were going to be a hit, and they totally were! These Oreo ice cream popsicles are creamy, full of cookie chunks, and so easy to make with just a few ingredients. You mix up a simple vanilla base, pour it right into the Oreo snack pack, and freeze. That’s it. No fancy molds or ice cream maker needed.

You crush the cookies in the pack, pour in the cream mixture, and add a popsicle stick before freezing. My daughter had so much fun helping, and the whole thing feels like a cool little kitchen hack. It’s the perfect treat to make with kids or serve during the summer or at any party.

These Oreo ice cream popsicles have everything you want in a frozen dessert, sweet, creamy, and loaded with cookies. Plus, they’re adorable and feel a little nostalgic when you peel off the wrapper. If you’re looking for a fun new twist on cookies and cream popsicles that you can easily do with kids, this is it!

And if you love making these popsicles, I’m sure you’ll enjoy these Yogurt and Fruit Swirl Popsicles, Orange Creamsicle Popsicles, or Root Beer Float Popsicles!

Why You’ll Love This Recipe

  • They use five simple ingredients you probably already have on hand.

  • Made right in the Oreo snack pack, which means less mess and no need to buy popsicle molds.

  • Combines the classic cookies and cream flavor with a creamy frozen twist that’s super refreshing.

  • Fun and easy recipe that kids can help with from start to finish (crushing Oreos is the best part!).

  • Great make-ahead treat for parties, playdates, or anytime.

Ingredients You’ll Need

  • Oreo Snack Packs – These are the perfect size for this recipe and act as both the popsicle mold and the cookie mix-in. Just give them a good crush before opening.

  • Heavy Cream – Adds richness and that classic creamy texture you want in a frozen treat. It’s what makes these feel like actual Oreo ice cream popsicles.

  • Milk – Helps thin out the cream just enough so it freezes smoothly without becoming too hard. Any milk works, but I usually go with 2%.

  • Pure Vanilla Extract – A splash of vanilla brings out the cookies and cream flavor and ties everything together.

  • Popsicle Sticks – These turn the Oreo packs into actual popsicles! I like to press them in gently after pouring the mix to keep them centered while freezing.

How To Make Homemade Oreo Popsicles

Crush the cookies: Keep the Oreo snack packs sealed and gently crush the cookies inside using your hands. You want small chunks and crumbs, but not completely powdered.

Make the creamy base: In a medium bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, milk, and vanilla extract until fully combined. This mixture is what gives the popsicles that rich, ice cream-like flavor.

Fill the Oreo packs: Carefully open just the top seal of each snack pack. Use a funnel (or pour slowly) to fill each pack with the cream mixture, leaving a little space at the top so it doesn’t overflow.

Add the popsicle sticks: Gently insert a popsicle stick into the center of each Oreo pack. It helps to press the stick into the cookies a bit so it stands up straight while freezing.

Freeze until solid: Place the filled packs upright in a small bin or container to keep them steady in the freezer. Freeze for at least 6 hours, but overnight is best for a firm and creamy texture.

Unwrap and enjoy: Once completely frozen, peel away the Oreo packaging and enjoy your homemade Oreo popsicles straight from the stick.

Expert Tips

  • Use a funnel or spouted measuring cup to pour the cream mixture into the Oreo packs as it makes the process way less messy.

  • Don’t overfill the packs or the mixture will overflow when you insert the stick. Leave just a little room at the top.

  • If the packs are wobbly, wedge a dish towel or some crumpled parchment around them in the bin to keep them in place.

  • Give the packs a gentle tap on the counter after filling to help the mixture settle around the cookies.

  • Make space in the freezer before starting so you’re not juggling full packs with one hand and opening freezer drawers with the other.

  • Let the pops sit at room temperature for 1-2 minutes before peeling the wrapper off. This makes it easier to remove without breaking.

Ways To Customize

  • Use Golden Oreos or any of the fun seasonal Oreo flavors to mix things up with different tastes.

  • Swap the vanilla extract for almond or coconut extract for a flavor twist on the creamy base.

  • Stir a spoonful of powdered peanut butter into the cream mixture before pouring.

  • Mix in a few mini chocolate chips with the crushed Oreos for an extra bit of chocolate flavor.

  • Add colorful sprinkles on top before freezing to make these popsicles festive for birthdays or holidays.

  • Use chocolate milk in place of regular milk for a more intense cookies and cream flavor.

  • Layer in some caramel sauce as you pour in the cream mixture for a swirled, gooey surprise.

  • Add a few crushed pretzels into the cookie pack for a sweet and salty combo.

  • Chop up strawberries or raspberries and mix them in with the crushed cookies for a fruity cookies-and-cream mashup.

Storage Instructions

Once the Oreo popsicles are fully frozen, you can leave them in their original wrappers if you plan to eat them within a few days, just keep them upright in a container or bin to prevent any bending or leaks. For longer storage, peel off the wrappers and transfer the popsicles to a zip-top freezer bag or airtight container. Add a layer of parchment paper between them if stacking, and they’ll stay fresh and creamy for up to 2 weeks.

FAQ

Can I use regular Oreos instead of the snack packs?
Yes, just portion crushed Oreos into small plastic cups or molds and follow the same steps with the cream mixture and popsicle sticks.

How long do Oreo popsicles need to freeze?
They need at least 6 hours to freeze completely, but freezing them overnight gives the best texture and makes them easier to remove from the wrapper.

What’s the best way to keep the popsicle sticks upright?
Set the snack packs in a small bin or loaf pan to keep them standing straight, and gently press the stick into the crushed cookies to help anchor it.

Can I make these dairy-free?
Yes, use full-fat coconut milk or a dairy-free creamer along with your favorite plant-based milk to get a creamy texture. Whatever combination you use may produce a different texture than you would get with dairy milk.

Can I make these popsicles ahead of time for a party?
Yes, you can make them up to 2 weeks in advance and store them in the freezer until ready to serve.

What kind of milk works best for this recipe?
2% or whole milk works well for a creamy texture, but you can also use skim milk for a lighter option.

How do I get the wrapper off without breaking the popsicle?
Let the popsicle sit at room temperature for 1–2 minutes, then gently peel the wrapper away starting from the top.

Ingredients

6 snack packs of Oreo cookies

1 cup heavy cream

1/2 cup milk

1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

popsicle sticks

Instructions

1. Begin by crunching each Oreo Snack Pack to crush the cookies inside the pack without opening it. Set aside.

2. In a medium bowl, mix together the heavy cream, milk and vanilla. Next, open one side of the Oreo packs and pour the milk mixture into the cookie pack. I used a funnel to make it easy. I also used a small bin to set the snack packs in so they can sit upright.

3. Continue to fill each cookie pack. Then place the popsicle sticks into each open end of the Oreo packs.

4. Place the Oreo popsicles upright in the freezer and freeze for several hours and ideally overnight.

5. Once frozen, peel the packaging off the popsicle and enjoy!
