Whipped Cottage Cheese has taken over the recipe world and I am not mad about it at all. It’s been whipped and added to smoothies, sauces, pastas, ice cream, and even cookie dough. I decided to add it to a classic recipe, Caprese. With some toasted bread on the side.

Whipped Cottage Cheese Caprese Dip is savory, salty, creamy, and rustic all at the same time. The creaminess of the best cottage cheese from Hiland Dairy, of course, mixed with the bursting cherry tomatoes, fresh basil, and a little olive oil and salt too. Your guests will be in awe of this simple recipe with big flavors.

Ingredients for Whipped Cottage Cheese Caprese Dip

This simple recipe requires just a few simple ingredients, nothing fancy but big flavors.

Hiland Dairy Cottage Cheese

Cottage Cheese is the base of this recipe and any time I want a seriously creamy result, I know I need to reach for Hiland Dairy products. Hiland products are made from milk that comes from local farmers, so it’s fresh when it’s turned into a whipped, creamy base. It also includes no artificial growth hormones and is rigorously tested for antibiotics, so you know you’re getting the best quality dairy. (P.S. If you’re buying Hiland Dairy products, make sure to check out their coupons!)

Feta Cheese

Feta cheese is slightly tangy, salty, almost peppery in flavor. When added to the creamy, whipped cottage cheese, the whole base takes on all those same flavors. It’s the perfect cheese to add to this Caprese dip recipe.

Tomatoes

I used good old cherry tomatoes for this dip recipe. They are a bit sweet, but not too much, and are the perfect pairing for basil, salt, and olive oil. The marinated tomatoes take on all those flavors and burst in your mouth along with the creamy cottage cheese, and crunchy bread.

Basil and Parsley

Basil is one of those herbs that kinda does it all. It’s a bit savory, but also a bit sweet. A little peppery, too. It pairs so well with tomatoes, olive oil, and salt. A classic flavor.

Parsley is also sweet and savory with a hint of pepper, but also adds a slight citrus flavor to the whole dish. The two together work well together and none of the flavors outshine any other in the Cottage Cheese Caprese Dip recipe.

Olive Oil, Salt and Pepper

Basics in lots of cooking and for a reason. Olive oil adds slight flavor but also a great binder for other ingredients like cottage cheese. And also acts as a vehicle for the flavors to soak into the tomatoes. A little salt and pepper bring all the flavors out to make them shine.

How to Make Whipped Cottage Cheese Caprese Dip

Step One: Whip the Cottage Cheese

Grab your food processor or blender (I used my single serve Ninja blender) and add the Hiland Dairy Cottage Cheese, Feta Cheese and olive oil. Blend for just a bit until it’s a thick, smooth and creamy consistency.

Step Two: Marinate the Tomatoes

Prep the tomatoes, basil and parsley. Cut the tomatoes in half or fourths and place in the bowl. Chop the fresh basil and parsley and add to the tomatoes. Sprinkle a little salt and pepper then stir all together to coat the tomatoes. Set it aside to marinate for about 15 minutes.

Step Three: Put Them Together and Serve!

Spoon the whipped cottage cheese mixture into a bowl to serve then just pour the marinated caprese tomatoes over top. Grab some toasted baguettes, pita chips or veggies and start dipping! And then start obsessing.
