The chicken is grilled and then tossed in a mixture of butter, garlic, parmesan and parsley creating a ton of flavor in each bite. It’s packed with flavor and pairs perfectly with so many summer sides like pasta salad, grilled veggies, or corn on the cob.

Ingredients You’ll Need

  • Chicken Drumsticks (or your choice of type)
  • Olive oil
  • Garlic powder
  • Salt/Pepper
  • Melted butter
  • Minced Garlic
  • Shredded Parmesan
  • Chopped Parsley

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Prep the Chicken: Mix together, salt, pepper and garlic powder. Brush olive oil over each piece of chicken and then sprinkle the salt/pepper mixture all over the chicken as well.

Step 2: Cook the Chicken: Heat the grill to about 375 and then place each piece of chicken on the grill and rotate every 10 minutes until chicken is cooked through to at least 165 degrees.

Step 3: Prep the Butter Mixture: While the chicken is grilling, mix together melted butter, minced garlic, shredded parmesan and chopped parsley.

Step 4: Toss the Chicken: Once chicken is cooked, place it in a large bowl and pour the butter mixture over top. Use tongs to toss the chicken to cover.

Step 5: Serve: Serve with your favorite summer sides like potato salad, asparagus or corn on the cobb.

Tips for the Best Grilled Chicken

  • Use shredded Parmesan rather than grated– the shredded gives the mixture more depth and melts better over the chicken
  • Try chicken thighs if you prefer even more juicy, rich flavor.
  • Want a little kick? Add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the marinade.
