I love Fall because it means it’s finally time to drink and eat all the pumpkin things, including my favorite pumpkin spice latte. This Pumpkin Spice Latte with Pumpkin Spice Cold Foam is an easy homemade version of your favorite fall coffee-shop drink, made with Prairie Farms Pumpkin Spice Milk and a simple homemade pumpkin spice syrup.

The best part? You don’t need any fancy espresso machine or complicated ingredients. Brew your espresso, pour in the pumpkin spice milk, and top it all with a creamy pumpkin spice cold foam. It’s the perfect little fall treat to enjoy at home!

Why You'll Love This Pumpkin Spice Latte

  • Easy to make at home: Once your pumpkin syrup is ready, the latte comes together in just a few minutes.

  • Full of fall flavor: Pumpkin spice syrup plus Prairie Farms Pumpkin Spice Milk makes this latte extra cozy and delicious.

  • Homemade cold foam: The 3-ingredient pumpkin spice cold foam takes this latte to the next level.

  • Make the syrup ahead: The homemade pumpkin syrup makes enough for several lattes, so you can keep it in the refrigerator and make pumpkin spice lattes whenever the craving hits.

  • Customize it: Use more or less pumpkin syrup, espresso, or cold foam depending on how you like your coffee.

Ingredients You'll Need

For the Pumpkin Spice Syrup

Brown Sugar: Gives the syrup a rich, caramel-like sweetness.

Pumpkin Puree: Adds real pumpkin flavor to the syrup. Be sure to use plain pumpkin puree rather than pumpkin pie filling.

Pumpkin Pie Spice: Because you can’t have pumpkin spice without it!

Vanilla Extract: Adds a little extra warmth and flavor.

Salt: Just a pinch helps balance the sweetness and bring out all of the flavors.

Water: Helps create the syrup consistency.

For the Latte

Espresso: I use 2 shots of espresso, but you can use as much or as little as you prefer.

Prairie Farms Pumpkin Spice Milk: This seasonal milk makes it incredibly easy to add even more pumpkin spice flavor to your latte.

Ice: This recipe is for an iced pumpkin spice latte, so you’ll want plenty of ice.

For the Pumpkin Spice Cold Foam

Heavy Cream: Gives the cold foam its rich, creamy texture.

Prairie Farms Pumpkin Spice Milk: Adds even more pumpkin spice flavor while helping create a lighter cold foam.

Pumpkin Spice Syrup: Sweetens the foam and gives it that delicious pumpkin flavor.

Pumpkin Pie Spice: A little extra pumpkin spice makes the perfect finishing touch.

How to Make Pumpkin Spice Syrup

Making your own pumpkin spice syrup is really easy and gives you enough syrup for several lattes.

Add the brown sugar, pumpkin puree, pumpkin pie spice, vanilla extract, salt, and water to a saucepan.

Stir everything together and bring it to a simmer over medium-high heat. Simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Remove the syrup from the heat and allow it to cool completely. Transfer the cooled syrup to a clean jar or container and store it in the refrigerator.

No straining is needed! The pumpkin puree can stay right in the syrup.

If you don’t want to make your own syrup, you can absolutely use your favorite store-bought pumpkin spice syrup instead.

How to Make a Pumpkin Spice Latte

Once your pumpkin syrup is ready, making the latte is so simple!

Start by adding 1 tablespoon of pumpkin spice syrup to a 12-ounce glass.

Brew 2 shots of espresso directly over the syrup and give it a quick stir to combine.

Fill the glass with ice, then pour the Prairie Farms Pumpkin Spice Milk over the espresso.

Now it’s time for the best part- the cold foam!

How to Make Pumpkin Spice Cold Foam

Add the heavy cream, Pumpkin Spice Milk, pumpkin spice syrup, and pumpkin pie spice to a glass or cup.

Use a milk frother to whip everything together until it’s creamy, thick, and foamy.

The amount of cold foam this makes will depend on the size of your latte and how much foam you like. It should be enough for about 1-2 lattes.

Spoon the pumpkin spice cold foam over the top of your iced latte and finish with a little sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice.

Then grab a straw and enjoy!

Tips for Making the Best Pumpkin Spice Latte

Make the pumpkin syrup ahead of time. The syrup is the only part of this recipe that takes a little extra time, so make it ahead and keep it refrigerated. Then you can make a pumpkin spice latte whenever you want one.

Don’t want to make homemade syrup? No problem! Your favorite store-bought pumpkin spice syrup works perfectly in this recipe.

Adjust the sweetness. If you like a sweeter latte, add another spoonful of pumpkin syrup. If you prefer a less sweet coffee, start with less and add more as needed.

Use more espresso if you like a stronger coffee flavor. I use 2 shots of espresso in a 12-ounce glass, but you can adjust the amount to your preference.

Don’t skip the cold foam! The creamy pumpkin spice cold foam is what makes this homemade latte feel extra special.

How to Store Homemade Pumpkin Spice Syrup

Store the cooled pumpkin spice syrup in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Because this is a homemade syrup made with pumpkin puree and water, it is not shelf-stable. I recommend making a smaller batch if you don’t think you’ll use it regularly and using it within about a week. If you notice any changes in smell, appearance, or texture, discard it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use store-bought pumpkin spice syrup?

Absolutely! Homemade pumpkin syrup is easy to make, but store-bought pumpkin spice syrup is a great shortcut. Simply use it in the latte and cold foam in place of the homemade syrup.

Can I make this without an espresso machine?

Yes! You can use espresso from whatever method you have available, or use strongly brewed coffee as an alternative. The flavor and strength will be a little different, but it will still make a delicious pumpkin spice coffee.

Can I make the pumpkin spice syrup ahead of time?

Yes! That’s one of my favorite things about this recipe. Make the syrup ahead, let it cool, and store it in the refrigerator so you can make multiple lattes throughout the week.

How much cold foam does this recipe make?

The cold foam recipe makes enough for approximately 1-2 lattes, depending on the size of your drinks and how much cold foam you like.

Can I make this pumpkin spice latte hot?

Definitely! Instead of adding ice, pour the espresso and Pumpkin Spice Milk into a mug and warm the milk first. Top with the pumpkin spice cold foam if desired, although the cold foam is especially fun on an iced latte.
