It’s Super Bowl Sunday which means it’s time for lots of food and drinks and no time to worry about calories. I’m gonna be honest, I don’t really care that much about the game. I’m in it for Justin Timberlake, the food and the commercials. In that order.

Back in the day before marriage and kids, my girlfriends and I would get together and have what we named “The Estrogen Bowl.” Basically a group of girls who make delicious food, drink, watch commercials and talk during the game. Those were the days.

Making food for a get together is my sweet spot. So today on our menu is a meatball pull apart bread, soft pretzels, caramelized onion dip, rotel dip and…..puppy chow. I love puppy chow. It’s my go to for both parties and road trips. It’s so easy and takes about 10 minutes to throw together. I’ve yet to meet a person who doesn’t love puppy chow. It’s a peanut butter, chocolate sweet crunch of a treat that is highly addicting.

Ingredients

9 cups Rice Chex cereal
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup smooth peanut butter
1/4 cup butter
2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar

Instructions

1. Pour the cereal in a large bowl (the bigger the better because it makes it easier to stir. Set aside.
2. In a microwaveable bowl, pour the chocolate chips, peanut butter and butter. Microwave for 1 minute, stir and microwave for 30 more seconds. Continue until all melted and smooth. Add vanilla.
3. Pour the chocolate mixture over the cereal and stir until all is covered.
4. Transfer cereal to a large ziploc bag and pour the powdered sugar in the bag and give it a good shake until all is coated.
Note: You can add a little powdered sugar at a time and shake between each addition, this can help coat more evenly.
