If you are looking for minimal effort with huge taste payoff, you’ve come to the right place. These Blueberry Slab Pie Bars are an incredibly easy recipe. Pre-made pie dough and canned fruit. I mean, you could make your own pie dough and your own fruit filling. And it would be incredible as well, but this mama is always looking for quick and easy solutions to get amazing desserts. Pre-made was the perfect option.

A really easy, powdered sugar glaze to go on top of the pie bars to add to the flavor. Did I mention how easy these are? I mean, really easy.

I used blueberry for these bars, but you could use any fruit flavor or even a combo of fruit flavors. Blackberry, Strawberry, Rhubarb, Rhubarb and Strawberry? Yum!

Ingredients

Package of premade pie dough (need 2 rolls for a top and bottom)

1 can Oregon Fruit Blueberry Fruit Filling (or choose any other flavor)

1 egg

Glaze

1 cup powdered sugar

12 Tablespoons milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 35o degrees. Spray a sheet pan with non stick spray. Unroll premade pie dough out on top of the prepared sheet pan. It will likely go over edges, but that is okay.
  2. Spoon fruit filling out onto the pie dough. Spread out evenly.
  3. Unroll second premade pie dough out on top of the filling to sandwich it in. Pinch all the edges around to seal in the filling. Cut off excess dough as well.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk the egg and a teaspoon of water together. Brush over entire top of crust.
  5. Take a fork and poke holes over the top of the pie crust to vent. Place in oven and bake for 30 minutes. If juice from fruit oozes out, that is okay.
  6. Remove from oven and let cool. To make the glaze- mix the powdered sugar and milk. If too thick, add more milk a little at a time. Drizzle over top of cooled pie bars. Let harden before slicing.
