We lovingly call this “Boat Dip” and to be honest, I’m not even sure why. Does it taste delicious on a boat? Absolutely. But it also tastes delicious on land. Boat Dip is an incredibly easy to make Taco Dip recipe and after you make it once, you’ll be making it forever.
Only a few ingredients, mix everything in a bowl and start dipping. Classic Mexican flavor and even better when you dip with Fritos or Tortilla chips. Check out the easy details below for your new chip and dip recipe favorite!
It’s super easy! It’s 4 ingredients mixed together in a bowl. That’s it. Comes together and ready to serve in under one minute.
The classic Mexican flavors. Mexican Dips are popular for a reason. The mix of creamy sour cream plus taco seasoning and Rotel is the Mexican flavor you know and love.
Make this one ahead. Boat Dip can be made a day or so ahead of time and kept covered in the fridge until you are ready to serve. Save lots of time with this super yummy dip recipe.
Sour Cream: Creamy texture with a slight tang makes for the perfect base of Mexican flavors.
Taco Seasoning: Classic Mexican flavors in an easy seasoning packet. (you could make your own taco seasoning too, but I find the packet fits the easy theme with this dip recipe)
Rotel: Tomatoes and chiles to give this dip a little extra kick and texture.
Shredded Cheddar Cheese: I mean, it’s cheese. What’s not to love?
Make Ahead: You can make this Taco Dip up to 2 days ahead of time. Mix all the ingredients together and then store in an airtight container in the fridge until ready to serve.
Serving: If you happen to have any leftover dip (might be unlikely), then place in an airtight container and store in the fridge for up to a few days.
Serving: This dip recipe can be served with all kinds of options. Chips or veggies are the classic choices. But my first choice for this Boat Dip is Fritos. Tortilla chips are always welcome, but there is something about the corn flavor and saltiness of a Frito. Definitely try it!
