WHAT’S FOR A FUN FALL TREAT?

Caramel Apple Pops

COOK TIME

Caramel Apples remind me of the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory in Vail, Colorado. I remember being little and watching the baker dipping the huge apples into the caramel. It was like an art and it was mesmerizing.

I love a big old caramel covered apple, but let’s be honest, they are hard to eat and messy. And if your kids are eating one, forget it. Sticky mess.

So why not create a new type of caramel apple? In an easy to eat pop form. Popsicle sticks or sucker sticks, my mom’s caramel recipe (the best) and your favorite toppings. Super fun to make, a fun interactive activity and an easy to eat yummy treat.

Ingredients

34 apples, cut into large slices

Caramel (Use this recipe if you make your own, I promise it’s the best ever!) You can also use a jar of premade caramel sauce too.

Sucker sticks or popsicle sticks

Toppings of your choice: chocolate chips, graham cracker crumbs, sprinkles, marshmallows, toffee, pretzels, so many options!

Instructions

  1. Prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper. Cut apples into large slices and then poke the candy stick or popsicle stick into the bottom point of the apple.
  2. Dip each apple pop into the caramel sauce and then sprinkle with your topping of choice.
  3. Work quickly to dip and top all the apples and once finished place the baking sheet into the freezer until ready to serve or eat. (this helps the caramel set and to help from slipping off the apple)
  4. Eat and enjoy!
