This Cottage Cheese Banana Pudding is one of those recipes that feels way more indulgent than it actually is. It’s ultra creamy, lightly sweet, packed with protein from the best Cottage Cheese from Hiland Dairy, and comes together in just a few minutes using a blender. No stove, no baking, no fuss.
If you love banana pudding but want a lighter, more protein packed option that still tastes like dessert, this one is for you. The blended cottage cheese creates a smooth, pudding-like texture that pairs perfectly with ripe bananas. Add sliced bananas and crunchy Nilla wafers on top, and you’ve got a nostalgic treat with a modern, healthy twist.

(Exact measurements can be found in the recipe card below.)
This recipe could not be easier.
Add the cottage cheese, banana, honey, vanilla and pudding powder to a high-speed blender.
Blend until completely smooth, thickened and creamy. Scrape down the sides as needed.
Taste and adjust sweetness if desired.
Chill for 30 minutes if you prefer a thicker, colder pudding (optional but recommended).
Serve topped with banana slices and crushed Nilla wafers for crunch.
That’s it. Dessert is done. 🙌
Blend well: The longer you blend, the smoother the pudding will be. A high-speed blender works best.
Use ripe bananas: The riper the banana, the sweeter and more flavorful the pudding.
Chill before serving: This helps the pudding thicken slightly and gives it that classic banana pudding feel.
Vanilla Pudding Powder: You can always omit this or use sugar free, but I love the flavor this pudding mix gives.
While this pudding is delicious on its own, toppings take it to the next level:
Sliced bananas
Crushed or whole Nilla wafers
Graham crackers
Mini chocolate chips
A dollop of whipped cream
You can also layer the pudding with bananas and wafers in small jars for a fun, parfait-style dessert.
Store cottage cheese banana pudding in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3–4 days. Give it a quick stir before serving.
This is a great make-ahead option for snacks or easy desserts throughout the week.
Can you taste the cottage cheese?
Nope! Once blended, the cottage cheese becomes completely smooth and neutral, creating a creamy pudding texture.
Can I make this dairy-free?
This recipe is designed around cottage cheese, so substitutions will change the texture and protein content.
Is this good for kids?
Yes! It’s lightly sweet, creamy, and feels like a treat while sneaking in extra protein.
