I love an easy dinner and this Garlic Butter Shrimp with Broccoli is all the best things an easy dinner is made of. Less than 30 minutes, one pan and delicious. Great for a busy weeknight.

I try to throw some shrimp into our meal plan ever week or so and this is one of our favorites. (Another great shrimp recipe we love is this Bang Bang Shrimp too.)

What is in the Garlic Butter?

Garlic butter is simple to make and always a great addition to shrimp. This garlic butter sauce adds a couple other flavors to give it some depth and a kick. Butter, garlic, lemon, and Italian Seasoning. If you don’t have Italian seasoning, you can add oregano, onion, basil as well.

Broccoli Cooking Tips

I like cooking broccoli, mostly because it turns this beautiful vibrant green color. For this easy shrimp and broccoli recipe, I usually use fresh broccoli but frozen broccoli would work just as well.

Fresh broccoli will get a little more color and char to the outside of it which adds a little flavor. Frozen broccoli is super easy, I usually have it on hand and is cheaper. Either way will land you at a delicious and easy dinner.

Same tip for cooking broccoli, try not to crowd the pan. All you need is a hot pan, olive oil and then cook the broccoli for about 5 minutes while stirring it about halfway through. Not much fuss to it,.

How to Cook Shrimp

Shrimp is so simple to cook but can become overcooked pretty easily. Shrimp are hard to tell from the outside or feel so that makes them a bit more intimidating to cook. Here are my tips for getting the best result from your shrimp.

You can use fresh or frozen raw shrimp. I usually buy a big bag of the frozen raw shrimp because it’s easy and more cost effective. To thaw the shrimp, I put it in a strainer and run cool water over it. (if you are better at thinking ahead, you can thaw the shrimp in your fridge)

Next, you want your pan nice and hot then add a large drizzle of olive oil. Place your shrimp in the pan and be sure not to crowd the shrimp together. You’ll want to leave the shrimp alone, cook on one side for about 3 minutes (depending on the size) then flip each shrimp. Leave them alone and cook for another 3 minutes. Remove and set aside. That’s it.

How to Change Up this Easy Shrimp and Broccoli Recipe

This is such a simple shrimp and broccoli recipe that you can really add many extras and flavors to change it up. Below are a few ideas:

– Add a stir fry sauce. Instead of the garlic butter and red pepper flakes, add your favorite stir fry sauce to the pan then place the cooked shrimp and broccoli to the sauce.

– Use some Mexican flavors. Season the shrimp with the classic Mexican flavors like cumin, chili powder, onion, garlic, oregano.

– Add different spices or fresh herbs to the butter. Thyme, rosemary, basil would taste incredible with the shrimp and broccoli.

What should I pair with Shrimp recipe?

You can eat this Easy Garlic Butter Shrimp with Broccoli recipe all by itself and be very happy. I also love to pair this one with noodles or rice. The Garlic Butter sauce covers the noodles or rice and creates a delicious, rich sauce along with the shrimp and broccoli.
