Here’s a weird fact about me, I don’t like cheese unless it’s melted. And I loooove melted cheese. There, I said it. I know, it’s so weird. Block of cheese. Gross. Melt it on a cracker, yum. I can’t control it, the heart wants what it wants. I think it’s a texture thing. Several years ago, I met a girl who was the opposite where she hates melted cheese but loves a block of cheese. Ying to my yang.

So when it comes to mozzarella, the melty, cheesy gooeyness of it is the greatest thing on the planet. I have no idea when I started making this, but this ravioli dish has become a staple in our house and now my extended family too. So hopefully your family will love it as much as ours does.

It’s easy, quick and perfect for a weeknight meal and special enough for a Sunday night dinner. Add some garlic bread and you have one happy Laura.

Ingredients

1 package (10 ounce) fresh Ravioli (I use the Rana brand in the fridge section)
1 jar spaghetti sauce (24 ounce)
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1 teaspoon minced onion
1 teaspoon chopped basil
1 teaspoon chopped oregano
1 package fresh mozzarella (8 ounces) thinly sliced

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Cook ravioli according to package. While ravioli is cooking, in a large saucepan, heat the spaghetti sauce on medium heat. Pour garlic, onion, oregano and basil and stir. Warm spaghetti sauce.
2. Once raviolis are cooked, drain water and then pour ravioli into the spaghetti sauce. Stir everything all together and cook over medium heat for about 2-3 minutes just to warm.
3. Pour the ravioli and sauce mixture into an oven safe pan. Cover the ravioli with the mozzarella slices in a single layer.
4. Bake at 400 degrees for about 10-12 minutes. Once mozzarella is melty, then change the oven to broil just to brown the mozzarella. Watch carefully so it doesn’t burn.
5. Remove from oven and serve with Parmesan or garlic bread. Enjoy!
