Cool off with Two Ingredient Creamy Lemonade, a refreshing blend that tastes like a lemonade version of Chick-fil-A’s Frosted Lemonade or an Orange Julius with lemon. This sweet, creamy drink combines lemonade and vanilla ice cream for a simple and refreshing treat made right in your blender!

When summer rolls around, I love making fun and fresh recipes that complement the summer sun and this creamy lemonade is just PERFECT all around! Imagine the tangy, sweet lemonade blended with the smooth richness of vanilla ice cream. Like a lemon slushy mixed with the smoothness of ice cream on a hot summer day. A sweet mix of flavor and texture!

This delicious combination creates a nostalgic flavor, just like Chick-fil-A’s Frosted Lemonade or an Orange Julius made with lemon instead of orange. And it can be made right at home for much cheaper right in your blender!

This recipe is as simple as it gets: Just take Hiland Dairy Lemonade (or your favorite lemonade) and Vanilla Ice Cream, toss them in a blender, whip until smooth, and you’ll have a delicious, frosty beverage in minutes! This frozen lemonade is perfect for backyard barbecues, pool parties, or as a quick treat on a hot day. Serve it with cheeseburger sliders, cheesy hot dogs, or a broccoli pasta salad!

Why Make Creamy Whipped Lemonade?

  • It’s incredibly easy to make with only two ingredients.

  • The combination of lemonade and vanilla ice cream creates a unique, refreshing flavor.

  • It’s perfect for cooling down on hot summer days.

  • The recipe is quick, taking just a few minutes to prepare.

  • It’s a fun twist on classic lemonade.

  • You can easily customize it with different ice cream flavors or add fruits for variety.

Ingredient Notes

  • Lemonade – Gives the drink it’s classic tangy, tart taste and sweetness. It also helps keep the mixture drinkable by making the ice cream less thick. Use high-quality lemonade that you like to drink for the best flavor.

  • Vanilla Ice Cream – Adds a creamy, thick smoothness to the lemonade, which brings it all together. Choose your favorite vanilla ice cream, whether it’s French vanilla, vanilla bean, or a higher-quality vanilla gelato.

Quick Instructions: Measure out two cups of lemonade and three cups of ice cream. Add the lemonade to the blender first, followed by the ice cream. Pulse the mixture to break up the ice cream, then blend on medium speed until smooth and creamy. Pour into a frosted glass and add a slice of lemon for garnish. Enjoy!

Recipe Tips

  • Use well-chilled lemonade and ice cream to make sure the drink stays cold and creamy for as long as possible.

  • Start by pulsing, then blend the ingredients on medium high speed to achieve a smooth texture.

  • Pour the lemonade into the blender first to help the ice cream blend more easily.

  • Use a high-speed blender to handle the thick consistency of the ice cream.

  • Serve immediately to enjoy the best texture and flavor.

  • Add ice cubes if you want a thicker, slushier consistency.

Flavor Variations and Substitutions

  • Make your own lemonade using fresh lemon juice and sugar to tailor the sweetness exactly how you like it.

  • Substitute the vanilla ice cream with strawberry ice cream for a fruity twist, or add a mixture of both!

  • Use limeade or orange juice instead of lemonade for a tangy, citrus flavor.

  • Add a handful of fresh mint leaves to the blender for a refreshing, minty taste.

  • Swap the vanilla ice cream for coconut ice cream for a tropical flavor.

  • Blend in a few fresh raspberries or blueberries for added color and flavor.

  • Use dairy-free ice cream to make a vegan-friendly version.

  • Replace half the lemonade with pineapple juice for a sweet and tangy blend.

  • Use lemon sorbet instead of ice cream for a lighter, tangier drink.

  • Blend in a scoop of vanilla protein powder for an extra boost in a post-workout treat.

Storage Instructions

Storing: Keep any leftover vanilla lemonade in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two days. Give it a good stir before serving to restore its creamy consistency or blend it with ice cubes.

Freezing: Pour the lemonade into ice pop molds or a freezer-safe container. Freeze for up to one month. Thaw slightly and blend before serving.

FAQ

Can I make this recipe without a blender?

Yes, you can use a food processor or an immersion blender if you don’t have a regular blender.

How can I make this drink less sweet?

Reduce the amount of ice cream or use a lemonade with less sugar. Adding a splash of water can also help balance the sweetness.

What if my drink turns out too thick?

Add a little more lemonade to thin it out to your desired consistency. Blend again until smooth and well-mixed. And if it’s too thin, add a bit more ice cream or ice cubes to the blender.
