I am slightly obsessed with making chicken parm sliders with chicken nuggets. These are really simple to make and have amazing flavor. Picture this: Sweet Hawaiian rolls, melty cheese, and crispy chicken nuggets. So many good things all in one easy meal.

These are 100% kid-approved (and loved by adults too!) and they take only about 30 minutes to make from start to finish. Could there be a better weeknight meal for families?! I don’t think so.

Just one warning before you make these little bundles of cheesy goodness: they may become an obsession and end up on your meal plan every week. Thank goodness they’re so easy and budget-friendly!

Ingredients for Chicken Parm Sliders

What makes these chicken parmesan sliders so special is that they’re made with frozen chicken nuggets. Nuggets are the perfect foundation for these sandwiches because they fit perfectly on the slider rolls, they’re so easy to work with (no cutting up and breading chicken required!) and if you have kids then you probably already have them in your freezer.

Here’s exactly what you’ll need to make these:

Hawaiian Rolls

These slightly sweet rolls are the perfect slider roll. They are a great size and the flavor pairs really well with any savory filling.

Chicken Nuggets

We can’t make chicken nugget sliders without chicken nuggets! You can use your favorite variety here, but I recommend the traditional nugget shape (think McDonald’s chicken nuggets) because they fit really well on the buns. Note: you’ll need to cook the nuggets before you make the sliders.

Mozzarella Cheese

Sliced mozzarella cheese gives these sliders their ooey-gooey bite. You can buy pre-sliced mozzarella or use fresh mozzarella (my personal favorite!).

Tomato Sauce

You’ll need about 2 cups of your favorite tomato sauce to make this dish. Whatever jarred sauce you keep in your pantry will work!

Ingredients for Garlic-Butter Sauce

The other unique element of these chicken parm sliders is the delicious garlic-butter sauce that gets baked on top. To make the garlic butter sauce you’ll need:

  • Butter
  • Minced Garlic
  • Dijon Mustard
  • Worcestershire Sauce
  • Dried Basil
  • Shredded Parmesan

How to Make Chicken Parm Sliders with Chicken Nuggets

This recipe for chicken parmesan sliders could not be easier.

Step One: Cook the chicken nuggets. I like to cook them in the air fryer, but you can do it in the oven or microwave too.

Step Two: Prepare your baking pan. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees then line a 9×13 baking dish with parchment paper or nonstick spray.

Step Three: Cut the Hawaiian rolls horizontally in half. Place the bottom half in the baking dish and then top with one chicken nugget on each roll.

Step Four: Top each chicken nugget with tomato sauce and cover the whole pan of sandwiches with slices of mozzarella cheese. Put the top half of the rolls on top of the cheese.

Step Five: Make the garlic butter sauce. Melt the butter and add the other sauce ingredients: minced garlic, mustard, Worcestershire sauce and basil. Mix together and brush over the tops of the rolls.

Step Six: Sprinkle parmesan over the top of the rolls and cover with foil before baking for 20 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for another 5 minutes.

That’s it! Just let your sliders cool a bit before taking a bite and enjoy!

Do you need to cook the chicken nuggets?

I get this question a lot. But yes, you’ll need to cook the chicken nuggets first, before assembling the sliders. They won’t cook all the way through or come out as crispy if you don’t.

I like to cook them in an air fryer. I love this one by Gourmia. $40 at Costco) because it gets them super crispy in a small amount of time. They don’t need to be fully cooked because they will continue to cook in the oven, but any extra crispiness will go well with the tomato sauce and melty cheese in these Chicken Parmesan Sliders.

How to Store Chicken Parm Sliders

These chicken parm sliders with chicken nuggets are best right after baking, but you can keep them for a couple of days in the fridge. I recommend wrapping them in foil and then reheating them in the oven when you’re ready to eat. The chicken nuggets won’t be quite as crispy as when you make them fresh, but they’ll still taste delicious!

What goes with Chicken Parm Sliders?

What doesn’t go with chicken parm nugget sliders?! My favorite sides to go with these Chicken Parmesan Sliders are very simple. I love a good salad, garlic bread, pasta, or broccoli. Check out these recipes that would go great with these sliders.

I also love to serve these as a more filling appetizer or finger food during a party or football game. These would be great as a Super Bowl party meal, Christmas party dish or any other gathering. They are loved by kids and adults, so they’re a real crowd-pleaser!

Other Slider Recipes To Try

Take a scroll through my website and you might discover something about me: I am obsessed with sliders. There’s not much better than a mini version of a favorite sandwich. I love that a smaller sandwich means more room for sides (or dessert!). I also love the idea of having a whole slider spread and making a few different varieties to share.

Here are a few of my favorite slider recipes:
