For a fun twist on pizza night, you must make this easy Pull Apart Pizza Bread! Loaded with melty cheese, pepperoni, and classic Italian flavors, this unique way to enjoy pizza makes the perfect appetizer or meal for any night of the week!

Pizza Fridays are always a hit in this house, but sometimes I love to change it up from the regular routine by making this simple pull-apart pizza bread. This easy dinner recipe is made with seven easy-to-find ingredients and is just a fun and unique way to enjoy pizza!

What is pull-apart bread?

Pull apart bread is a type of dish where pieces of dough are baked together in a pan, creating a loaf that can easily be pulled apart into individual servings. It’s usually loaded with different types of ingredients, from savory cheeses and herbs to sweeter ingredients like cinnamon and sugar for dessert!

This pull apart bread is pizza inspired, so it uses premade pizza dough that gets torn into pieces and placed in a loaf pan or bundt cake pan. It gets mixed with cheeses and your favorite pizza toppings. Once baked in the oven, each piece can be pulled apart from the rest, giving you a delicious, stringy cheese pizza bite!

Pizza bread is great for family dinners, game nights, or any party. Serve it as an appetizer, side dish, or main course. Pair it with marinara, ranch (hello Midwest!), or garlic butter for extra flavor. It also goes well with salads and soups!

Ingredient Notes

  • Refrigerated Pizza Dough – Forms the base of the bread, giving the dish a chewy texture that holds everything together. You can buy premade dough or make your own from scratch!

  • Shredded Mozzarella Cheese – Melts to create a gooey, stretchy cheese pull that makes each piece delicious.

  • Italian Seasoning – Adds a mix of herbs that give the bread an authentic pizza flavor.

  • Garlic Powder – Enhances the savory taste with a touch of garlic in every bite.

  • Olive Oil – Coats the dough pieces, making sure they don’t stick together.

  • Pepperoni – Adds a spicy, savory meat that complements the cheese and seasoning.

  • Shredded Parmesan Cheese – Gives the bread a sharp, nutty flavor that enhances the overall taste and gives the bread an extra layer of cheese goodness.

Step By Step Instructions

Prepare for baking: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray the loaf with nonstick spray. You can use a bundt pan, loaf pan, or 8×8 baking dish. Just be mindful that each has a different cooking time.

Prepare the dough: Use a sharp knife or pizza cutter to cut the dough into both small and big pieces. Cut the pepperoni into quarters and add to the bowl with the cut dough. Drizzle the olive oil over the dough and then the garlic powder and Italian seasoning.

Add cheeses: Add the Parmesan and Mozzarella cheese into the bowl. Mix all together until the dough is covered.

Assemble and bake: Place all the dough pieces into the prepared pan. Bake for 30 minutes until the top starts to turn golden brown. Remove from the oven and let sit for a few minutes.

Flip and serve: Once cooled for a few minutes, flip the bread out onto a plate. Tear pieces and serve with your favorite dipping sauce. Enjoy!

How To Make In A Bundt Cake Pan

This recipe can be made in a loaf pan or in a bundt cake pan. Make the recipe as instructed, then transfer the dough mixture into the bundt cake pan, spreading it evenly. Bake for 30 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the bread is cooked through. Let it cool for a few minutes, then carefully flip the bread onto a plate. The bundt cake pan has more surface area and generally will need less time to cook than a loaf pan.

Recipe Tips

  • Spray the bundt pan thoroughly with nonstick spray to prevent sticking.

  • Cut or tear the pizza dough into different sized pieces to create a fun texture.

  • Mix the dough pieces well with the olive oil to make sure they are all evenly coated and pull apart easily.

  • Spread the dough mixture evenly in the prepared pan to make sure each piece bakes evenly.

  • Let the bread cool for a few minutes in the pan before flipping it out to avoid breaking.

  • Use a large bowl to mix the dough, cheese, and seasonings to make sure everything is evenly distributed.

  • Bake the bread on the middle rack of your oven for the most consistent heat.

  • Serve the bread warm for the best texture and flavor.
